Thursday April 12th, 5:30 a.m.

Papa had an appointment with Dr. Breaux, his surgeon, yesterday afternoon.  He removed the latest drain,  removed the "button" which was placed in his stomach when they pulled  his G-tube , and removed the tube used for his feeding.  He now is drain/tube free! He will finish his IV antibiotics today and his pic line will be removed soon also.  He has been fever free.  We will see about getting his blood work done to check his white cell count.  He is feeling well, doing his therapy, sleeping and eating well.

Monday April 9th 9:45

Papa was able to come  home on Thursday last week.  He came home with the newest drain still in place and he is on an IV antibiotic.  His back is healing well and he is able to continue with his physical therapy now.  His surgical wound is still healing well.  We had a very happy Easter with him home.  What a blessing for him  to be able to make it back home before the weekend.  Hopefully he will continue on the road to recovery without any other setbacks.
